Hand Building Functional Ceramic Vessels: Beginner and Intermediate

Instructor: Richard Lo Piccolo

In this hand building class you will be able to explore hand building in depth. This class is for beginners and intermediate adults. One of the primary clay hand building processes, slab construction, will be developed further, pushing the use of textured surfaces. There is also an opportunity to learn how to use our new extruder. This tool opens up lots of new possibilities for quickly developing three dimensional forms. Students will learn to make functional ware and will also explore glazing and alternative sources of texturing tools.
Richard has an extensive background in clay, jewelry, bronze and glass from his early days in Illinois and later at Loyola and Tulane. Class is limited to six to 10 spots.
